Problem One
I saw my 40 gig crash out, and in fairness it was my first time for it to crash out. However, I can now tell you it was not going to be my last. I was trying to watch a DVD (brand new, no scratches, no pirated stuff for me) but It would not load. It had worked the night before, and I never even took it out of my PS3, but the next day it wouldn't load – annoying, to say the least. I took it out put back in still won't work. I turn my PS3 off ,back on , but it still will not load, needless to say by this time I am getting very frustrated because I have to fix Playstation 3. I got it to work by pressing the triangle and playing the disk from the beginning, some how that got it to work for a while.
Problem Two
I only have had my PS3 for a few of months, but recently when I tried to play a game it would not load. I thought it was just my disc but when I had looked at it there wasn’t even a speck of dust on it, then I decided to put in a Blu-Ray disc to see if that would play, I went online to see if it has happened to anyone else. and it turns out that this exact same problem has happened to hundreds of others too, so its time to fix Playstation 3.
Yellow Light of Death
I left it for a few days , but I think my $600 investment is dead! I turned my TV and PlayStation 3 on as usual, The PlayStation 3 booted up , I walked out of my room for a good few minutes or so, to get something to eat,when I returned to my room to play “Modern Warfare 2 “, I noticed the Playstation 3's red light was blinking , so I preceded to turn it back on.
When I pressed the power button the console beeped one time and the light was solid red, so still need to fix Playstation 3. I pressed it again and the light turns green and the fans can be heard, but then quickly the fans shut down and I am presented with the Yellow Light Of Death, followed by the light blinks red and the console beeps Three times and the light continue to blink red.
Fix Playstation 3
Not only do I have the “Yellow Light Of Death”, I also have “Call of Duty:Modern Warfare 2” stuck in the disk drive and it will not eject!
I immediately contacted Sony and they told me, that there was no troubleshooting steps for this issue and it has to be sent in for repairs. They said without a warranty it would cost $149.99 to repair the console and another 25$ I believe for shipping and packaging.
They also told me there was no way to get my game out unless I sent it in and got it repaired, as they put it (unless of course you try different methods by yourself which would void the warranty and therefore we cannot fix your console).
Then I started thinking about all my Game Saves,Music,Videos,Pictures,Shared and bought PSN games a lot of which are irreplaceable, I also read that Sony formats the HDD before returning the console after repairs are compete is this true? Is there anyway I can backup my HDD now? I don't own a external HDD so I couldn't ever backup my console.
